Referral Networking
- Where do we find talent?
The notion that the best candidates are found through referrals is widely accepted. There are plenty of good reasons for this; the best reason of all is that a large percentage of referred candidates are passive. That means they are employed and not actively seeking new opportunities. These candidates are employed for a reason: they are top producers. If their current employer wants them – chances are you do too.
Another distinct advantage of referral networking is that it there is less competition for the candidates you want to hire. Because passive candidates are not actively seeking employment, they’re hidden from most recruiters and therefore not being "shopped" to numerous organizations. Consequently, the probability of you having to compete with other offers is far lower with passive candidates than it is with active ones. Therefore the chances of having your offers accepted are significantly higher.
